Overview

In 933 Qara Qadi, Aleppo's waqf-inspector, was killed inside its congregational mosque — and with him Badr al-Din Ahmad, son of the chief qadi Taqi al-Din al-Muwayy, overseer of the Two Sanctuaries' endowments at Aleppo, who had joined him and gained a strong hand at his side; the commons wanted to burn the body but his family and companions rescued it, washed, shrouded and buried him 1.
