Overview
Al-Suyuti relates that Khwarazm Shah stopped the Abbasid khutba in his lands and headed for Baghdad, reaching Hamadhan. 2
The snow
A great snow fell on them for twenty days out of season. One of his close men told him that it was a wrath from God, because he had marched against the house of prophethood. He also heard that the Turkic peoples had gathered against him, and that was the reason he turned back, and al-Nasir was spared his harm without a battle. 2
The year 592 AH
Al-Suyuti mentions that in this year he camped across the Jayhun with fifty thousand men and sent to the caliph asking for the sultanate and the return of the seat of the sultanate. The caliph pulled down the seat of the sultanate and sent his messenger back without an answer. 2
