Overview
At the end of Ramadan 92 AH Tariq ibn Ziyad met the army of King Roderic near Shadhuna. The Muslims won a decisive victory, the Gothic army was routed, and the road to the conquest opened. 2
Its significance
According to the book, historians hold that this battle decided the fate of al-Andalus in favour of the Muslims. 2
The Hijri date is given as the book gives it; it has not been converted to the Gregorian calendar. The book probably refers to the same engagement that another source calls the battle of Wadi Lakka; linking the two needs an additional source.
