Summary
"Yatağan Camii stands on the Sixth Hill just inside the ancient Byzantine land walls. Built in Fatih's time by one of his artillery generals, Hacı İlyas Ağa, it is of the simple rectangular type with a wooden porch and a wooden roof and gallery. The architectural historian Ekrem Hakkı Ayverdi held its woodwork contemporary with the mosque and of great interest, but Freely considers this highly unlikely given the district's frequent fires and the poor, recent-looking craftsmanship." 1
