Overview
"Akhbar al-Zaman" is the largest of the works of al-Mas'udi on general history. In "Muruj al-Dhahab" he refers to it several times as an earlier work, in which he gave the accounts of the kings of Tanukh, Sulayh and Ghassan and the Amalaqa, the call of the Prophet to al-Harith ibn Abi Shamir, and the beginning of the genealogy from Abraham to Nizar ibn Ma'add. 2 3 4
