Overview
The Kakuyid state, of the Daylam, kings of Isfahan and Yazd. Ibn Khaldun says that Ala al-Dawla ibn Kakuya was in Isfahan, obeyed Sultan Mahmud ibn Subuktakin, and had the khutba given in his name in 420 AH. 1
Founder
In the data the state is attributed to Ala al-Dawla ibn Kakuya. 2
With the Ghaznavids
Mas'ud ibn Mahmud marched on Isfahan and took it from him, then Ala al-Dawla returned to it. 2
The Yazd branch
Ala al-Dawla Kurasaf ibn Qaramurd ibn Kakuya was lord of Yazd, and a son-in-law of the sultans Muhammad and Sanjar through their sister. The Kakuyids remained in the Jibal until the Seljuk state prevailed. 2
