Overview
The Hasanwayhid state, of Hasanwayh ibn al-Husayn al-Kurdi, from the Rizinkas group, the clan of the Duwaylatiyya. It was founded by Hasanwayh al-Kurdi. The data date its beginning roughly to 349 AH (959 CE). 1
Beginnings
He inherited the kingship from his two maternal uncles, Nadadh and Ghanim, sons of Ahmad ibn Ali of the Kurds of the Abbasiyya. He overcame the outskirts of Dinawar, Hamadhan, Nahawand, al-Samaghan and some districts of Adharbayjan. 1
He built the fortress of Sarmaj of cut stones, and the mosque of Dinawar. 1
After his death
He died in 369 AH and his sons split up. Then Adud al-Dawla chose Abu al-Najm Badr from among them, and he grew strong until he defeated the armies of Musharraf al-Dawla under the command of Qaratekin in 377 AH. Baha al-Dawla invested him and gave him the title Nasir al-Dawla in 388 AH. 1
A second source is needed: the year the state came to an end is not recorded in the data.
