Summary

Ukaz was one of the famous markets of the Arabs. It was held in the sacred months alongside Dhu al-Majaz, Majanna and others, as The Sealed Nectar presents it. Trade was the greatest means of obtaining the necessities of life, and it could only be carried on in safety, which was missing across the peninsula except in those months 1. See the economic condition.

What is not covered here

The site of Ukaz near al-Ta'if, the poetic boasting that took place there, and the Prophet ﷺ's going out there to present himself to the tribes belong at their own places in the book. They will be added when we reach them.

For young visitors

Ukaz was a great market where Arabs gathered in ancient times for trade and poetry contests, in the months when there was no fighting.
