مرو

Marw, the great city of Khurasan; its marzban's envoy al-Shahijan sued for peace and Hatim ibn al-Nu'man compounded it at a million two hundred thousand — variants: a million dirhams with two hundred thousand jarib of grain, or a million one hundred thousand uqiyya — the terms widening Muslim housing, all of it sulh save the village al-Sanj taken by force.

Overview

Marw is the great city of Khurasan. Its marzban, al-Shahjan, sent asking for peace, and Ibn Amir sent Hatim ibn al-Nu'man al-Bahili to it. He made peace with it for a sum whose amount and rank the reports disagree on, and the terms included making room in their houses for the Muslims. 1

All of it was made by treaty except a village called al-Sanj, which was taken by force, according to al-Baladhuri. 1

Establishing the amounts of the treaty needs an additional source.
