Summary
Sem "Semmy" Schilt is a Dutch retired kickboxer, karateka and mixed martial artist, born in Rotterdam on 27 October 1973. Known as "Hightower", he is the only kickboxer to have won five major heavyweight tournaments: the K-1 World Grand Prix four times and the Glory Heavyweight Grand Slam in 2012. He retired in 2013 on medical advice because of a heart condition, and has also worked as an actor. 1 2
Career
Schilt took up Kyokushin karate at eight — both his parents practised it — switched to Ashihara karate at twelve and held a black belt by eighteen, cross-training in kickboxing, judo and submission wrestling. He began his professional career in 1996 in Pancrase, where he became King of Pancrase, and also fought in Pride and the UFC. In K-1 he won the World Grand Prix in 2005, 2006 and 2007 — the only fighter to win it three times in a row — and again in 2009, also holding the K-1 Super Heavyweight Championship. In 2012 he won the Glory Heavyweight Grand Slam tournament in Tokyo and the Glory heavyweight title. On 26 June 2013 he retired immediately, instructed by his medical team because of a heart condition. 1 3
In the record
No religious affiliation is recorded for Schilt, and the absence is complete: neither the English article nor the Arabic stub says anything about his religion, none of either article's categories is a religion category, and his Wikidata item has no religion value at all. His faith therefore stands as unknown. 1 3 2
