Summary
Sana Saleh is a Canadian content creator in Toronto who, with her husband Will, makes comic and explanatory videos about Islam and Muslim life as the Saleh Family. AboutIslam described the couple in 2021 as famous for videos which bring people together, with a following in the hundreds of thousands on TikTok and a rapidly grown YouTube audience. 1
Background
The couple's own company page says they were all born and raised in British Columbia and moved to Ontario at the start of 2019. Will has said he grew up not as a Muslim, and that a big reason they create content is to humanise Muslim people for audiences who know them only through media coverage. 2 1
Lala Hijabs
In the summer of 2020 Sana dyed a hijab pink and purple and wore it almost daily; when people began asking where it came from, the couple turned the design into Lala Hijabs, a company selling hand-dyed hijabs for children and adults in compostable, sustainable packaging — one of the first hijab companies to use it, they say. The name was suggested by their eldest daughter, Aaminah, and the couple present the letters as "Live Authentic Love Always". 2 1
