Overview

Qass ibn Sa'ida al-Iyadi, one of those who called to God and drew the attention of their people to His signs in the period between Jesus and Muhammad. al-Mas'udi counts him among the monotheists who affirmed the Creator and believed in the Resurrection. al-Rahiq al-Makhtum mentions him among those who spoke of divinity before Islam. 2

In al-Rahiq al-Makhtum (p. 77)

al-Rahiq al-Makhtum relays from Muhammad al-Ghazali that when news of the secret mission reached Quraysh, they paid it no attention. They may have taken Muhammad for one of the religious speakers who discussed divinity and its rights, as Umayya ibn Abi al-Salt, Qass ibn Sa'ida, Amr ibn Nufayl and their like had done 3 4.
