Summary
Nursultan Rysmaganbet is a Kazakhstani online preacher who ranked third among Kazakhstan's five leading online preachers in a peer-reviewed study published in 2025 in Millah: Journal of Religious Studies: the researchers counted 864 thousand followers on his personal Instagram account @nursultan_rysmaganbet as of 31 January 2025. 1 That personal figure is the basis of this record's reach; the studio-channel figures below are distribution and are not attributed to him.
His work and the distribution channel
Rysmaganbet's sermons reach a far wider audience than his personal account through ÁLI stýdıasy, a Kazakh studio channel on YouTube whose subscriber count stood at about 1,090,000 by vidIQ's count read on 4 November 2026, and whose most-viewed videos are sermons by him, titled "Ustaz Nursultan Rysmaganbet". 2 The channel is a production and distribution outlet that publishes several preachers; it is not his channel and its audience is not counted as his — it is the vehicle of his sermons' circulation, not evidence of ownership. 2
What the study said
The researchers of the peer-reviewed study found Rysmaganbet's case puzzling: he used no unique or innovative methods in his social-media preaching, and unlike contemporaries such as Arman Kuanyshbayev and Yersin Amre he has no connection with the country's Council of Islamic Scholars, which prompted their questions about his level of expertise in Islamic studies; they also relayed personal-branding specialists' description of part of his appeal as an "appeal of attractiveness". All of this is the researchers' reported analysis, not the museum's judgement. 1
