Roles are dated and sourced; the museum describes the act and attributes the judgement.

    The police and the EFCC

He joined the Nigeria Police Force shortly after graduation and rose through its ranks, eventually heading its Legal and Prosecution Department. In 2003 President Olusegun Obasanjo appointed him the pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and reappointed him in 2007. Under Ribadu the EFCC charged prominent bankers, former state governors, ministers, senators and senior party figures — even the head of the Nigerian police — issued thousands of indictments and achieved about 270 convictions. In October 2006 he told the BBC that over 380 billion dollars had been stolen or wasted by Nigerian governments since independence in 1960 1.

Dismissal, exile and the presidential run

In December 2007 he was removed from the EFCC, and in 2008 the Police Service Commission dismissed him from the force; he left Nigeria and lived in exile until 2010. He returned to declare for the presidency and ran in 2011 as the candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, losing. He then chaired the Petroleum Special Revenue Task Force (2012–2014), ran for governor of Adamawa State in 2015 on the Peoples Democratic Party ticket, later joined the All Progressives Congress to run in Adamawa again, and lost the 2023 primary contest to Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed 1.

    National Security Adviser

On 19 June 2023 President Bola Tinubu appointed him National Security Adviser, the office he has held since 1 2.

Affiliation, as the sources attest it

The English article makes no statement of Ribadu's religion anywhere in its text and files him only in the category "Nigerian Muslims" — a category filing, which never counts as an attestation. Wikidata gives a single structured value, Islam, with no school. With no two sources naming an affiliation or a school, the museum's record keeps the value unknown 1 2.
