Overview
Abu al-Dardaʾ Muhammad ibn al-Musayyib ibn Rafi' ibn Muqallad, amir of the Banu Uqayl. He founded their rule at Mosul after killing Abu Tahir and his companions and marching there, and he took it. 1
Mosul
Baha' al-Dawla sent Abu Ja'far al-Hajjaj ibn Hurmuz, who prevailed over it. Muhammad marched against him with his people and those Arabs who had gathered to him, and victory went to the Daylam. He died in 386 AH (996 CE, the conversion is derived), and his brother Ali succeeded him, until the rule was settled for their brother al-Muqallad. 1
