    Summary

Kifah Kamil Abu Hanoud is a Jordanian academic and researcher in Islamic studies, specialising in tafsir (Qur'an exegesis). 1

She is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Sharia of the Applied Science University in Jordan, and the founder of the Mishkah initiative for women. 1 2

    Career

She holds a bachelor's degree in Sharia from the University of Jordan and earned her doctorate in tafsir in 2010 from the International Islamic University Malaysia, where she also worked as a research assistant. 1

She was an assistant professor at Umm al-Qura University's university college in al-Qunfudhah, Saudi Arabia, from 2011 to 2018, heading its Islamic Studies department in 2012, and later an assistant professor at Dumlupınar University in Kütahya, Türkiye, in 2019. 1

Since 2020 she has been an assistant professor at the Faculty of Sharia of the Applied Science University in Jordan. 1 In December 2023 Al-Qasemi Academic College hosted her for a lecture on the concept of gender in Islam in its master's programme in Islamic studies. 2

    Works

Her books, published by عصير الكتب, include Fiqh Bina' al-Insan fi'l-Qur'an (The Jurisprudence of Building the Human in the Qur'an), Fi Suhbat al-Asma' al-Husna (In the Company of the Most Beautiful Names), Ala Khuta Ibrahim (In the Footsteps of Ibrahim) and Manhajiyyat al-Sayr ila Allah. 1

In 2019 she founded the Mishkah initiative, which works to build balanced Sharia awareness and connect religious knowledge to lived reality. 1 Its Riwaa programme runs for five years for women enrollees, with her weekly audio lectures, a structured reading plan, articles and discussion circles held in closed groups for the members. 3

Her own Telegram channel (@drkefah) carries her writings and audio lessons signed with her name, including her Ramadan series on the divine names drawn from Fi Suhbat al-Asma' al-Husna. 4

    Positions and criticism

This section presents what the sources report about her work and its themes; it is not the museum's verdict on her or on her opinions.

Her profiles describe her as a thinker concerned with religious awareness and with grounding contemporary knowledge in the sources, and Mishkah's stated aim is a balanced Sharia awareness linked to the contexts of real life. 1

In her hosted lecture at Al-Qasemi College she treated the concept of gender and how it is used, the Sharia's approach to it, and what the college's report described as the difficulties Muslims face from its misuse. 2
