Overview
Abd al-Karim ibn Abi al-Awja, a client (mawla), one of the best-known men accused of zandaqa (heterodoxy) in the early Abbasid period. 2
What the two sources report
Al-Mas'udi says that he wrote on the Manichaean, Daysanite and Marcionite doctrines, in which heretics were numerous. Ahmad Amin counts him among those known for zandaqa in that age, alongside the three Hammads, Bashshar ibn Burd, Ibn al-Muqaffa', Mutii' ibn Iyas and Salih ibn Abd al-Quddus. 3
The accusation is attributed to the sources; this page does not rule on it.
