His funeral

He renounced the caliphate while able to take it, preferring al-Qahir bi'llah; he died in 440, bequeathing that the qadi Abu'l-Husayn Ibn al-Ghuriq wash him and pray over him, that he be carried to Bab Harb by day and buried without a coffin. The viziers Kamal al-Mulk and Za'im al-Mulk attended his funeral, and al-Basasiri walked behind it from his house to his grave; he was buried near Ahmad b. Hanbal's grave, and the ra'is al-ru'asa Abu'l-Qasim sat for condolences next day. 1
