Overview
Al-Hasan ibn Ali (may God be pleased with him) al-Alawi, known as al-Utrush, an Alid of the Abbasid period. Al-Suyuti in "Tarikh al-Khulafa" reports that the Daylam, who had been Magians, embraced Islam at his hand in 302 AH. 2
His end in al-Mas'udi
Al-Mas'udi reports that he was routed before Makan ibn Kaki al-Daylami, and horsemen from Khurasan, the Jabal, the Daylam and the Turks pursued him, among them Asfar ibn Shiruyah. He withdrew to a mill near Amul, the capital of Tabaristan, when his supporters had abandoned him, and was killed there. 3
