Career
As a wildcard at the 2012 Malaysian Grand Prix, Syahrin led his home Moto2 race in the middle stages and was classified third after Anthony West's results were annulled for doping. 1 Riding full-time for Petronas Raceline Malaysia in Moto2 from 2014, he took further podiums at San Marino — second, after Dominique Aegerter's disqualification — and Japan in 2017, finishing tenth that season. 1 Signed by Monster Yamaha Tech3 for 2018 after Jonas Folger withdrew for health reasons, he raced two MotoGP seasons, on Yamaha machinery and then on a factory-spec KTM, with a best result of ninth place in Argentina. 1 After two further Moto2 seasons he moved to the Superbike World Championship, racing for MIE Honda in 2022–2023 and in JDT Racing Team colours on a Ducati in 2024. 1
