    ImageNet and Stanford

Li is best known for creating the ImageNet dataset and its associated challenge, which enabled the rapid advances in deep learning and computer vision in the 2010s. A professor of computer science at Stanford, she co-founded the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) and co-founded AI4ALL, a nonprofit working to increase diversity in artificial intelligence. In 2024 she founded World Labs, a company working on "spatial intelligence". She has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. 1 2

    Religion

Her faith is recorded as unknown, in the absence configuration: no article text in the English, Arabic or Urdu edition names any religion or affiliation for her, no infobox carries a religion field, and her Wikidata item carries no religion claim at all. The only religion-adjacent word in the English article is the journalistic nickname "Godmother of AI", a metaphor about her standing in her field, not an attestation of belief. Her Chinese origin is family background, never an attestation, so no value is recorded. 1 3 2 4
