Summary
Elvis Naçi (born 7 April 1977 in Tirana) is an Albanian theologian and imam. He was director of Islamic preaching at the Islamic Community of Albania and preaches at the Tabak (Tanners') Mosque in Tirana. 1 His Facebook page counts over 1.4 million followers and his YouTube channel over 582,000 subscribers, on the English Wikipedia article's figures as updated in August 2026. 1
Beginnings and career
Naçi directed Islamic preaching for the Islamic Community of Albania, a post documented by Olsi Jazexhi in the Yearbook of Muslims in Europe (2014), and made the Tabak Mosque in the capital the base of his preaching. 1 He hosts the television programme "Shqiptarët për Shqiptarët" ("Albanians for Albanians") and became one of the most visible religious figures in Albanian media and on the platforms. 1 Several Albanian magazines named him Man of the Year for 2019. 1
Projects and initiatives
Naçi founded and presides over the Firdeus Non-Profit Cultural Foundation, his vehicle for charitable and social work. 1 After Albania's November 2019 earthquake he led a wide donation campaign through the foundation and announced that over €7 million had been collected for those affected — the foundation's announced total as reported by Telegrafi, not an independently audited figure. 2 The Context study (2025) notes that his charity campaigns have become a central part of his public presence and his influence among young people. 3
Positions and criticism
The English article describes Naçi as a progressive Muslim and a harsh critic of radical Islam; he publicly accused the government of doing too little about radical imams, and the mosque where he preaches hired security, according to the Shqiptarja.com report of 2015 that the article cites. 1 These descriptions and events are recorded as the sources state them; they are not the museum's verdict.
Impact and audience
Alongside Wikipedia's 2026 figures, the peer-reviewed Context study — reading the platform pages in October 2024 — recorded 1.3 million followers on Facebook, 1.3 million on Instagram and 537,000 subscribers on YouTube, making him the most followed preacher in Albania in the study's tables. 3 The figures are dated platform counts, not facts the museum measures itself.
