    Businesses

    In 2020 Lew launched the Elewsmart supermarket chain, whose first outlet opened in Bandar Baru Bangi on 18 July 2020 promising low prices on essentials. {cite:source/wikipedia-ebit-lew-ms} The chain expanded across Malaysia before all outlets were permanently closed from January 2024, the Malay article attributing the closure to unprofitability and mismanagement. {cite:source/wikipedia-ebit-lew-en} His other ventures include the Elew's Design clothing line and the Paramount Coffee House cafés. {cite:source/wikipedia-ebit-lew-ms}

    Positions and criticism

    What follows are positions and events attributed to their sources, not verdicts of the museum. In May 2021 Lew led a humanitarian mission to Gaza with the Palestinian and Egyptian Red Crescent societies and Malaysia's foreign ministry; the rapper Caprice criticised him, accusing him of profiting from aid funds, and later apologised, while the activist Nadir Al-Nuri questioned the mission's entry route, its purchases in Egypt and its three-day duration. {cite:source/wikipedia-ebit-lew-ms} Lew denied wrongdoing in a live broadcast and lodged a police report. {cite:source/wikipedia-ebit-lew-ms}

    In August 2021 police investigated Lew over an allegation of sexual harassment, which he denied as "a cruel and excessive slander" (fitnah yang sangat kejam dan melampau). {cite:source/wikipedia-ebit-lew-ms} On 18 February 2022 he pleaded not guilty at the Tenom magistrate's court in Sabah to 11 charges of sending obscene words and images by WhatsApp between March and June 2021, and was released on bail of RM11,000. {cite:source/wikipedia-ebit-lew-en} {cite:source/wikipedia-ebit-lew-ms} The Star reported in February 2023 that the trial was continuing with a new witness; this record verified no final outcome and states none. {cite:source/wikipedia-ebit-lew-en}

    Books

    Lew's books include Tangisan Umat (2012), Perjalanan Hidayah Umat (2014, with Rahman Lew), Menelusuri Cinta (2015), Saya Cuma Posmen (2016), Isteriku Bidadari (2016) and 11 Amalan Memiliki Kekayaan (2018). {cite:source/wikipedia-ebit-lew-ms}
