Overview

Bayakbak, a Turkish amir. He went out with Musa ibn Bugha to Sinn in pursuit of Musawir. Al-Muhtadi wrote to him to kill Musa and Muflih, and to be the amir over all the Turks. Bayakbak showed Musa the letter and said that this action would befall them all, so they agreed to kill al-Muhtadi. 2

Al-Mas'udi says that Bayakbak fell into the hands of al-Muhtadi, who struck off his neck and threw him to his companions. It is also said that he was killed in the battle of the bridge of Samarra. Al-Mas'udi says the Turks' anger at al-Muhtadi was because of this killing. 3
