Overview

Baliq, the companion of Mu'nis al-Muzaffar and one of his most trusted companions. He and his son Ali were among his commanders. 2

His end

Ibn al-Athir relates that he agreed with Ibn Muqla and Sayma' to depose al-Qahir. They gave out that Abu Tahir al-Qarmati had come to Kufa so that they could bring the army out. 2

Al-Qahir arrested them with Mu'nis at the start of Sha'ban 321 AH, and killed them in the same month. In the report, his son Ali was slaughtered first and his head was carried to him; then he too was slaughtered and his head was carried to Mu'nis. The heads were paraded along both sides of Baghdad and then returned to the head-store. 2
