Overview
The governor of the Samanids in Nishapur. Ibn al-Athir relates that Asfar ibn Shiruya attached himself to him and served him, and he sent him to Jurjan to conquer it. He remained there until he died, and Prince Nasr ibn Ahmad gave Asfar Jurjan in 315 AH. 1
