Overview

The judge Bakkar ibn Qutayba. Al-Suyuti relates that Ibn Tulun gathered the judges to depose al-Muwaffaq from the heirship, and they deposed him except Bakkar. Ibn Tulun told him that he had produced a letter from al-Mu'tamid appointing al-Muwaffaq heir, so let him produce another letter deposing him. Ibn Tulun imprisoned and fettered him, and took from him his stipend for some years, which was ten thousand dinars. 1
