Overview

A man of the Tayy, one of the wounded at al-Qadisiyya. He was made to rest under the only palm tree between the place of the battle and the fort of al-Udhayb, while he was dying, and addressed the palm tree with verses that al-Mas'udi relates. The palm tree was a sign for the wounded: when one of them was carried to al-Udhayb, he asked to be rested beneath it and said that he had come near the Sawad. 1
