Overview

Bahram Khushnash, known as Chubin, the sipahbad of Fars. When Shaya, king of the Turks, rose against Hormizd ibn Khosrow Anushirvan with three hundred thousand fighters, Hormizd sent him with twelve thousand. He met Shaya, killed him with an arrow, and overran his army. Then he defeated Shaya's son Barmuda and besieged him until he surrendered, and sent him as a captive to Hormizd. 1

Then Bahram and those with him feared Hormizd, deposed him, and marched towards al-Mada'in, showing that his son Abarwiz was more fit for the kingdom than he was. 1
