Overview

Asim ibn Bahdala, kunya Abu Bakr, known as Ibn Abi al-Najud, a client of the Banu Judayma ibn Malik ibn Nasr ibn Qa'in. 2

In Ibn al-Nadim

Ibn al-Nadim counts him in the third class of the Kufans after Yahya ibn Wathhab, and says that he died in 128 AH. He read with Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami and Zirr ibn Hubaysh. 2

Abu Bakr ibn Ayyash and Hafs ibn Sulayman al-Bazzaz related from him. The report says that the reading he took from Asim goes back to Ali ibn Abi Talib (may God be pleased with him) through the report of Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami. 2

Notes

  • The source mixes the death date of Abu Bakr ibn Ayyash (193 AH) into the context of Asim's death; this has not been recorded here, and it needs an additional source.
