Overview

Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Nawfali, author of "Kitab al-Akhbar", whom al-Mas'udi often cites in reports on the Family of the Prophet ﷺ and the poets. 2

What al-Mas'udi relates from him

He related from Abu al-Abbas ibn Ammar that al-Sayyid al-Himyari died holding to the Kaysaniyya. He denied that the poem "Tajafarta bi-Ism Allah" was the Sayyid's, because the Sayyid, for all his eloquence, would not say this word. 2
