علي بن عيسى الوزير

Ali ibn Isa, the vizier of the Abbasid caliph al-Muqtadir. Al-Tabari says that he was arrested in 304 AH, summoned from the Maghrib to take the vizierate in 314 AH, and arrested a second time in 316 AH. ^{1 2 3}

Al-Suyuti says that he was appointed vizier to al-Muqtadir in 301 AH, that he abolished wine, and that he abolished dues yielding five hundred thousand dinars a year. ⁴

Al-Mas'udi says that al-Muqtadir appointed him vizier twice, and that he was arrested in Dhu al-Hijja 304 AH. ⁵ Ibn al-Athir quotes his saying about al-Tabari, that the common people attached to him first the charge of Rafd and then of heresy. ⁶ Ibn al-Nadim gives a story about al-Hallaj with him. ⁷
