Overview

Al-Sayyid al-Himyari, the poet of the Family of the Prophet ﷺ, who wrote many verses about al-Husayn ibn Ali (may God be pleased with him). 2

Reports about him

Al-Mas'udi says that his transmitter Isma'il al-Sahir said that he died only holding the doctrine of the Kaysaniyya. Ali ibn Muhammad al-Nawfali denied that the poem "Tajafarta bi-Ism Allah" was his. The two attributions are disputed among the transmitters. 2
