Overview

Al-Rawwad al-Azdi, who settled in Tabriz, and whose son al-Wajna' ibn al-Rawwad settled there after him. 1

Tabriz

Al-Baladhuri says that al-Wajna' and his brothers built in it and fortified it with a wall, and people went on raids with him. Then al-Wajna' and Sadaqa ibn Ali, a client of the Azd, rampaged and caused corruption in Azerbaijan. This is al-Baladhuri's judgement of their action, as he relates it. 1

The dates of these events and the life of al-Rawwad himself need an additional source.
