Overview

Al-Qahl b. 'Iyash b. Hassan b. 'Amir b. Sharahil al-Kilabi, slayer of Yazid b. al-Muhallab; when the Syrians' cavalry wheeled upon Yazid and his men, al-Qahl sprang forward and cried: "People of Syria! This is Yazid — God's curse on him — I shall kill him or he shall kill me!" He and his men charged; each of them struck his man dead, and al-Qahl pointed his companions to where Yazid stood — then died of his wound. 1
