Overview

Al-Khanshilil is Abu al-Hasan Ahmad, and al-Khanshilil is a nickname. He was a friend of Ibn al-Nadim, and many times claimed to him that the craft of alchemy had succeeded for him. Ibn al-Nadim says he did not see any traces of it on him, since he saw him as a poor, aged, impoverished man, and described him as heavy of shadow (dull company). 2

Among his books, according to Ibn al-Nadim, are "Sharh Nukat al-Rumuz", "Kitab al-Shams", "Kitab al-Qamar", "Mus'if al-Fuqara'", and "al-A'mal ala Ra's al-Kur". 2
