Overview

Alexander of Aphrodisias, one of the masters who commented on the books of Aristotle. Ibn al-Nadim says that he commented on the "Categories", and commented twice on the "Prior Analytics" down to its fine figures, one commentary more complete than the other, and that he commented on other works too. He says some of his books were copied by Abu Zakariya, about three hundred leaves. 2

The data do not record his birth or death, which needs an additional source.
