Overview
Al-Hurr ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Thaqafi, governor of al-Andalus in the Umayyad period. 2
His governorship
He moved the seat of government from Seville, where Abd al-Aziz ibn Musa had ruled, to Cordoba. He raided the lands of the Franks and the regions of Narbonne, took captives and booty, and returned with the prisoners and the spoils. 1
While he was busy with raiding in the north-east, the resistance of the Bulays in the north-west revived, and he returned to fighting them before Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz dismissed him. 1
The book does not give exact dates for his governorship, which needs an additional source.
