Overview

Al-Hasan ibn Kannun al-Idrisi, the last of the Idrisid kings in the Maghrib. 1

Rule

When his brother Abu al-Aysh came to fight in the Adwa of the Maghrib, he appointed him over his governorship. When his brother died as a martyr in 343 AH, the kingship came to him anew, and he inflicted heavy defeats on the Zanata kings. He fortified himself against the Fatimid commander Jawhar in the castle of al-Nasr near Ceuta. Then he called for the Shi'a and broke the allegiance to the Marwanids. 1

The end

In 362 AH al-Hakam al-Mustansir ferried his army with Muhammad ibn Qasim ibn Tamlus, and the advantage was with al-Hasan. Al-Hakam sent his client Ghalib ibn Abd al-Rahman with money and troops, and he spread money among the chiefs of the Berbers and pressed al-Hasan until he was driven out of the Maghrib. He went to Qayrawan and then to Cordoba. Later the Maghrib called him back and he claimed power for himself, but they seized him and sent him to al-Andalus, where he was killed on the road, and the kingdom of the Idrisids came to an end. 1

The date of his death in the data is approximate (about 375 AH), is derived, and needs an additional source.
