Overview

Al-Harith ibn Zalim al-Murri, of the Banu Murra ibn Awf. Al-Baladhuri describes him as the most famous of treacherous men in the days of the Arabs. 2

The report

He undertook to Ghatafan that he would kill Khalid ibn Ja'far for the blood of Zuhayr ibn Judhayma. He came to al-Nu'man and greeted him and ate with him, then went in to Khalid and killed him. 2

That was the cause of the day of Rahrahan, when al-Ahwas ibn Ja'far went out with the Banu Amir seeking from al-Harith the blood of his brother. 2
