Overview
Abu al-Qasim Ali ibn Hamza al-Basri, a philologist, man of letters and critic from Basra. He stayed in Baghdad for a time, and al-Mutanabbi lodged in his house when he came to Baghdad. He died in 375 AH (985 CE). 1
