Al Balkhi Al Faylasuf

Al-Balkhi the philosopher, the man from whom al-Razi read philosophy. He was from Balkh, travelled widely through the lands, and had good knowledge of philosophy and the ancient sciences. ²

The "Fihrist" says it is said that al-Razi claimed his books on this subject. Ibn al-Nadim saw in his hand a great deal on many sciences, drafts and outlines, of which no complete book was ever published. It was said that his books were in Khurasan, and that he lived in al-Razi's time. ²

His personal name and the years of his birth and death are not recorded, and need an additional source.
