Overview

Ad ibn Aws, said to be the first of the kings of the people of Ad, and his reign is said to have lasted three hundred years. His son ruled after him, and the last of their kings was al-Khaljan. Al-Mas'udi gives this in the form "it is said". 2

Al-Mas'udi also relates that he went with his son and those who followed him to al-Ahqaf, and to the sand dunes between Oman, Hadramawt and Yemen. 3

The whole account rests on a single report whose form is itself doubtful, and it needs an additional source.
