Overview

al-Suyuti's account
According to al-Suyuti he made millstones, and he was a smith, a carver and a carpenter. Al-Mughira asked Umar to let him enter Medina and imposed a tax on him; he complained to Umar, who did not change it. So he threatened that he would make a mill driven by the wind. 3
He then stabbed him with a double-edged dagger in the darkness before dawn prayer. He wounded thirteen men with him, six of whom died, and then he killed himself. 3
The data do not record the date of the event, which needs an additional source.
