Overview

Abu Labid al-Jahdami, a man of the Azd. Al-Mas'udi relates that he was asked: "Do you love Ali?" He answered, in substance, that he does not love a man who killed two thousand five hundred of his people on one day. 1

The report adds that the killing reached such a point that no one found anyone to console him, and each household was occupied with its own dead. This is the narrator's account as al-Mas'udi gives it, and the museum describes it without judging it. 1

The data hold no fuller biography of Abu Labid, which needs an additional source.
