Overview

Abu al-Fawaris al-Qarmati, a man brought from the Kufa region, whom al-Mu'tadid ordered killed. 1

His punishment

His hands and feet were cut off and he was crucified beside the servant Wasif, then moved to the area of the churches. 1

The report of his return

Common people spread that he said to those present at his killing that he would return after forty days. Crowds gathered under his cross counting the days and fought one another, until they were ordered to disperse. 1

This is what al-Mas'udi relates from the common people, and it has not been verified here.
