Overview

Abu Haritha al-Nahri was the keeper of the treasuries of al-Mahdi's money. 2

The story of the keys

Al-Mas'udi relates that when al-Mahdi distributed his father's money, Abu Haritha threw the keys before him and said: "What is the meaning of keys to treasuries that have been emptied?" When the money came in, and al-Mahdi was busy with checking it, al-Mahdi said to him: "You are a stupid bedouin." He answered that when an event occurs it does not wait until one is directed to bring out the money. 2
