Overview

Abu Bakr ibn al-Harith ibn Hisham (may God be pleased with him) al-Qurashi al-Makhzumi. Al-Mas'udi mentions him in the report of his advice to al-Husayn ibn Ali when he resolved to go out to Kufa. 2

His advice to al-Husayn

He reminded him of what they had done to his father and his brother, and said something to the effect: "Will he who promised you help fight you, and will he who loves you more than those who help you forsake you?" He asked him to remember God in his soul. Al-Husayn said: "May God reward you, your opinion has taxed you." 2

Then he went in to the governor of Mecca and said that many advisers are disobeyed, and that he had advised al-Husayn. 2

The data does not give his birth and death dates; a second source is needed.
