Overview

Abu al-Azhar Muhallab ibn Abi Isa. Al-Mas'udi says that al-Mansur handed over to him his uncle Abd Allah ibn Ali, whom he held in his custody, and then ordered his killing; he strangled him until he died. He says that afterwards he did what would give the impression that the house fell upon him. He quotes him saying that he had not shown mercy to anyone he had killed except a slave-girl who was with him. 2
