Overview
Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Ibadi, the Ibadi scholar in Kufa, whose companions came to him and took from him. Ibn al-Nadim describes him as one of the great men and theologians of the Kharijites, and attributes to him a book on the Unity, a book against the Mu'tazila, a book on capacity (istita'a), and a book refuting the Rafidites. 2
Al-Mas'udi relates that he was a leather-worker and a partner of Hisham ibn al-Hakam in one shop, and that they did not revile each other despite their different schools. He asked Hisham to marry him to his daughter Fatima, and Hisham answered that she was a believer; so he ceased asking until death separated them. 3
